As a component of the mandates of Edo Civil Society Organisations which is the promotion of good governance, it has launched its pilot phase of 'Accountable and Transparent Stewardship'. The project is to demand fiscal and infrastructural accountability and transparency from local government councils across the state with Support from Social Action. The first information request letter was sent to the chairman representing Oredo Local Government Council to make available details of income and expenditure vis-à-vis projects executed since inception of his administration. This move is to ensure that public servants are accountable and transparent to citizens whose Commonwealth are being deployed in the payment of salaries and projects execution at the grassroots level.
