Report: Capacity Training on Policy Engagement 7th February 2019

Introduction:  Alliances for Africa (AfA) organized a capacity training on February 7-8, 2019 on policy engagement skills and strategies as advocates and promoters of anti-corruption and accountability. The capacity training took place in San Diego Hotel Abakiliki, Ebonyi state, and had 60 participants in attendance. The residential capacity training brought together, civil society organization, faith based organizations, politicians, representatives from various institutions and the security agency in Ebonyi state.  Two consultants, Ms. Eyinannay Nnennaya and Mr. Monday Ashibogwu who took the participants on the interactive two days training session, facilitated the training session. The imperative of this training was to develop anti-corruption tools such as community scorecards, citizens report cards, MOU for commitments by aspirants and sustainable tracking components. And to identify advocates and promoters of anti-corruption in Ebonyi state.


Purpose / Objective of Activity: The objective of the training is
⦁ to institutionalize anti-corruption and accountability by ensuring necessary political commitment to deepen and spread anti-corruption and accountability in Enugu and Ebonyi States.
⦁ to create and support a community of practice on transparency and accountability at national level beyond the 2019 elections.
